Admission to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi and other medical colleges in the country is gained through All India Medical Entrance Examination, (AIIMS- Entrance Examinations, CBSE-PMT.) Admission to various state medical colleges is gained through different state level entrance examinations (DPMT for Delhi, CPMT for UP etc.)
These entrance examinations test the basic knowledge of the student in the subject and his/her ability to apply this knowledge for useful purposes. Most of the examinations are objective type covering the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. These are conducted in the months of May and June each year.
